The 2008 Account Manager and Private Party Manager Trip was a huge success in Las Vegas this past weekend! Forty two American Valet managers partied it up at the Bellagio Hotel and Resort. The Awards ceremony was held at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. The winners are listed below.
Leadership Award for Private Party Division
This Private Marty Manager is constantly going above and beyond to provide the utmost in customer service and promote a friendly teamwork environment. He has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and is able to effectively lead & motivate an ever-changing team of valets! Both our clients and valets really appreciate the fact that he goes the extra mile prior to our events (calling clients to confirm, preparing detailed maps outlining the parking plan, etc…). The extra time and effort that he puts forth guarantees a flawless event from start to finish.
The winner of the Leadership Award for the Private Party Division went to Lance Warren.
Account Manager of the Year
This person is carefully selected after looking at a few variables during the past year. This person’s Mystery Shopper Scores average 99% in the past year. This account manager has had ZERO customer complaints in the past year. He has achieved a net profit of 15% or higher this Fiscal year to date. His administrative responsibilities are above average and he did receive glowing recommendations for this award from our Payroll Manager and Standards and Compliance Manager.
The Award for Account Manager of the Year goes to Stephen Brennick, the Account Manager of Ocean Club.

Customer Service is everything in our business. The Customer Service Award went to two people that have received numerous customer compliments and virtually ZERO complaints or issues.

Highest Volume Award

For accounts that charge parking fee, the highest volume award went to Kelly Buckley at Scottsdale Fashion Square, parking 57,896 cars from October 2007 to April 2008.
For complimentary accounts, the highest volume award went to Kai Lucas at Banner Desert Hospital, parking 54,413 cars from October 2007 to April 2008.

Working in the Heat!

It is getting to be that time of year again! Be careful this summer! We value all of our field employees, especially this time of year. Take care of yourself in the hot temperatures!

If you have any other good ideas, tips, or tricks about staying cool in the hot summer heat…post them to this blog. Share with your fellow teammates!

Bring Ice Water with you to work! Small coolers are excellent to keep your water cold.

Drink small amounts of water, frequently throughout your shift.

Eat smaller meals before work activity.

Avoid sugar, caffeine, and alcohol.

WEAR SUNSCREEN!

Signs of heat exhaustion: Headaches, dizziness, dry skin, no sweating, mental confuision, weakness.

If you notice signs of the above, call 911 immediately!! Move person inside or to a shaded area, loosen clothing, provide cool drinking water, fan and mist person with water.

New Benefit: Healthcare Benefits

The question of healthcare benefits has long been circulating around the field for some time now. The company is proud to announce that medical, vision, and dental benefits will be offered to all Level One Account Managers. A flexible spending account benefit will also be available. The Level One status is determined by hours of operation, volume, and profitability.

Account Managers at these accounts will have the opportunity to enroll in the healthcare benefits and/or flexible spending account, effective June 1,2008. American Valet Company contributes 50% of the premium for single coverage medical care. Dependent and/or spouse premiums are to be paid by the employee. Vision and Dental premiums are to be paid by the employee. Healthcare benefits are deducted each pay period.

A separate e-mail will be sent to the Account Managers that are eligible. This e-mail will outline the plan details and costs. In addition, a conference call will be scheduled to discuss the benefits with the HR Manager where all questions will be answered regarding the new benefits being offered.

Although we value all employees that work for American Valet, the financial expense to cover every single team member is not within our budget at this time. As we continue to grow and expand our business operation, opportunity for a companywide plan might become within our reach. 1st Annual Valet Olympic Winners!

April 23rd, 2008

We had a great time at the 1st Annual Valet Olympics this past Sunday, April 20th! Eli Whisenant, Jimmy Reisinger, Nick Adams, Lance Henry, Ramon Herrera, Alex Hunter, Mike Jacobsen, Hector Lopez, Moe Omoth, Fernando Romo-Carrillo, Gabe Salcido, and Brad Williams participated for trophies, cash, and bragging rights! Team Chandler Fashion Center showed up in full effect and took home the bragging rights as the winner of the Team Gauntlet! The duo of Moe Omoth and Lance Henry showed up dressed to impress. Everyone had their chance to drive a brand new Dodge Viper, donated by Larry Miller Dodge. Sonjia from The Backrub Company was there to donate her time and give free massages. During breaks we all enjoyed complimentary Chipotle burritos. And Dave from News Channel 3 came to film the fun. So, how many of you wonder if Mike’s still got his valet talents from his youth? Well, he was there to prove it with the second best time for backing into a tight spot at 16.91 seconds! But, after all was said and done Eli Whisenant from the Waterfront account took home the 1st place prize of $200 cash, a trophy, and the gold valet Olympic medal. Jimmy Reisinger from the Chandler Fashion Center account came in second place with $100 cash, a trophy, and the silver valet Olympic medal. And in 3rd place was Nick Adams from the Waterfront account who took home $50 cash, a trophy, and a bronze Olympic medal. Area 2 came to win it and took the 1st and 3rd place awards! Congratulations to all the winners!
